I think that in all probability, Motley Crue's 1989 ballad "Without You" is the greatest love song ever written. | | Tuesday, December 9th, 2008 | | 11:49 pm |

This and that.
Hmm, haven't updated in a while. 1. Obligatory Caitlin talk. She's making progress on numbers, she can kind of count to 20 now. She still skips 3 (which I'm convinced she only does to be cute), and she confuses some of the teens, but she's getting there. She's also stringing words together now, using adjective-noun combinations. She can tell me she wants to read "duck book" now, which is a big step. To save Emily from having to drive out twice a week, I'm now getting Caitlin overnight on Saturday nights rather than Wednesdays and Sundays. So, my Saturday nights are tied up for the forseeable future, but I guess that gives me a little extra time during the week to feed my Necroplasm. - Supposed to get my performance review sometime this week. With all the hours and stress I've been pouring into work lately, I'd better get a gold star. C. Moving out on September 30th. Step one of the moving process is a trash sweep of the entire house, and THIS is a voyage of discovery, let me tell you. I put eight bags to the curb last night, and I'm not done. Incidentally, I have two 25"ish televisions that are up for grabs if someone wants to cart them out of there. They're sorta old, no remotes, coax-in only. Good for last-gen gaming systems or cable hookups, but not much else. If nobody I know wants them, I'll CL them or curb them. I found some pictures of my 17th birthday party in a bag in my basement. C.1. No, you don't have to help me move. I'm hiring movers. Two years ago I promised I'd never make my friends help me move again, and I'm sticking to that. You CAN help me drink beer at our housewarming party, however. -> I'm playing Final Fantasy 4 DS, Team Fortress, and Bionic Commando at the moment, and I'm doing some MUDing again (the Necroplasm, by the way, is a MUD artifact that requires you to player-kill someone every couple days, a task I would happily indulge in even without its wraith-like tendrils infecting... nay, enhancing my consciousness). I'm also sorta idly fooling around with DMC4 and GTA4. On the horizon are Rock Band 2 and Force Unleashed... and rumors put The Lich King at November 4th. From there, it's Starcraft and Diablo 3. It's been nice knowing all of you. * I'm pissed about the 4 GB memory cap for 32 bit machines. I wish I'd known about it and/or done more researching before buying my 4 GB 32 bit machine. ñ. I'm doing the Decemberween party again this year. Saturday, December 6th is the tentative date. (BTW Chris, I'm doing the Decemberween party again this year, at our place) Standard caveat applies -- if you are reading this, and I do not wish to put your eye out with a sharp stick, you are invited. This and that
Almost done with season 3 of BSG. Good series, I'll be sad when it's over. On a related note, I think this is the way to watch television series... wait two or three years, then rent/download the entire catalog all at once. Watching series is infinitely more entertaining when I can watch 5 episodes at a time, rather than having to wait a week in between. My adventure in the world of cooking continues. Took a shot at making lasagna for the first time last night. It came out ok, and I know what I need to do differently in the future. I didn't use enough sauce, so it kinda tastes like "a pile of ricotta cheese and ground beef." And I didn't put enough cheese on the very top, so the top noodles got fried. But I didn't have to scrape it into the sink, so I consider the prototype a success :) I have more beer in my house than I know what to do with. In fact, I have more beer in my house than will fit in my refrigerator. I may need to recruit your help in rectifying this surplus. What else? Caitlin is well, she was sick on Saturday but she bounced back. We swung by the Sterling fair yesterday, but there weren't any baby rides (and it was hot) so we didn't stay long. Root canal part 2 tomorrow. Part 1 went fairly well. The root canal itself was fine, but because I had some infection, it hurt like hell for an hour afterwards. I've been on antibiotics for a week now, so everything should go swimmingly tomorrow. Also getting a bridge done. So expensive :( Have to hold off on bike shopping for a month or two. Ok, off to work. Current Mood: tiredCurrent Music: Radiohead - Reckoner | | Thursday, March 13th, 2008 | | 10:46 pm |
Fuuuuuck.
Lil' Kickers was cancelled. Turns out, I was the only sign-up for Friday evenings. No baby soccer for us. At least I got the concert tickets, that'll be something fun we can do. | | Friday, February 22nd, 2008 | | 2:04 pm |
Tumult
I look forward to the day when all the wars are over. I'll win some, and I think I'll probably lose some, but I'm just tired of fighting. | | Thursday, February 21st, 2008 | | 1:34 am |
